In a remarkable display of cycling prowess, Telangana State secured two medals at the 28th Senior, Junior & Sub Junior National Road Cycling Championship held in Vijayapur, Karnataka from January 9th to 12th, 2024.
Chirayush Patwardhan clinched the Silver Medal in the highly competitive 80 Kms Under 18 Years Category in the Mass Start event, showcasing exceptional skill and determination. Aashirwad Saxena added to Telangana's glory by securing the Bronze Medal in the same category and event, further highlighting the state's cycling talent.
Expressing their joy on this achievement, Telangana State Association President Sri. Venugopalachari, Secretary Sri. K. Jagdishwar Yadav, and Telangana Cycling Chief Coach & Deputy Director Sats Mr. G. Chandra Reddy conveyed their elation. The state officials, including President Sri. P. Mallareddy and Secretary Sri. B. Vijay Kanth Rao, were visibly proud of the outstanding performance of Telangana's cycling contingent.
The success was not only attributed to the skill of the cyclists but also to the dedicated coaching and management team. Coaches Sri. B. Vijay Bhasker Reddy, Venkat Narsaiah, Diwakar Rao, and Manager Pandu Jadhav played pivotal roles in preparing and guiding the Telangana State cyclists throughout the competition.
Telangana's impressive showing at the National Road Cycling Championship reflects the state's commitment to nurturing and promoting talent in the sport, setting a promising tone for the future of cycling in the region.
