Raheel, who was allegedly driving the vehicle, fled the accident site along with three others. Initially, a person claiming to be Abdul Asif, a driver of the former MLA, took responsibility, but police investigations later revealed Raheel's involvement.
Deputy Commissioner of Police S.M. Vijay Kumar stated that Raheel falsely presented an unrelated individual as the driver during the accident. Further investigations uncovered that Raheel left for Mumbai shortly after the incident and subsequently flew to Dubai.

In response to these developments, Commissioner K. Sreenivasa Reddy suspended Station House Officer B. Durga Rao of Panjagutta Police Station for allegedly shielding Raheel. The suspension was based on Rao falsely implicating another person instead of holding Raheel accountable for the road accident in Panjagutta.
This is not the first time Raheel has been involved in a road incident. Previously, he was allegedly present in an SUV that struck street vendors in posh Jubilee Hills, resulting in the death of a two-month-old child and injuries to four others in March of the previous year.
