The Satara Police have apprehended three adults and a minor boy for orchestrating a spine-chilling 'ghost in ladies toilet' prank that sent shockwaves through the community. The unsettling incident occurred on December 24 at a public women's toilet in Lonargully, Ravivarpeth, Maharashtra.
Two women, entering the facility around 10 p.m., were horrified to witness a 'female ghost' sitting in the middle, clad in a sari, with an ashen face, reddish eyes, and a partially covered visage. The terrified witnesses raised the alarm, sparking panic in the vicinity.
The following morning, some daring individuals decided to inspect the alleged haunting, prompting them to shout and even hurl stones at the eerie figure. However, to their relief, the ghostly apparition collapsed, revealing itself to be a disfigured statue.

Despite the initial fright, the incident has now become a subject of jest among locals, with many opting to use an alternative toilet block.
The episode gained attention on local and social media networks, prompting Maharashtra State Commission for Women Chairperson Rupali Chakankar to instruct the Satara Police to prioritize an investigation. After more than 48 hours of thorough examination, the Satara City Police apprehended the four suspects, including a woman and a minor, responsible for the unsettling prank.
While the motive behind the prank remains unclear, calls for strict punishment for the perpetrators have emerged from the community. The incident, which had the potential for disastrous consequences, has left many residents seeking assurances from the police to prevent such occurrences in the future.
