Hyderabad Literary Fest Gears Up for its 14th Edition with Norway as Guest Nation and Odia in the Spotlight

Celebrating Literature, Culture, and Diversity

The upcoming 14th edition of the Hyderabad Literary Festival (HLF) is set to captivate audiences at Hitec City’s Sattva Knowledge City from January 26 to 28, 2024. With Norway honored as the guest nation and Odia chosen as the Indian language in focus, the festival promises to be a vibrant celebration of literature and cultural diversity.

Since its inception in 2010, the Hyderabad Literary Festival has evolved into a significant cultural event on the national calendar. Attracting over a hundred writers, artists, academics, scholars, and publishers from India and abroad annually, the multidisciplinary and multilingual festival mirrors the rich and cosmopolitan ethos of the city.

The festival's diverse program includes engaging conversations with authors, readings, thought-provoking panel discussions, captivating exhibitions, film screenings, enlightening workshops, and entertaining cultural programs. According to a press release, this edition of the festival will introduce three new thematic streams—Indigenous and Endangered Languages, Environment, and Science.

A stellar lineup of speakers adds to the festival's allure, featuring luminaries such as Nobel laureate Kailash Satyarthi, Jnanpith awardee Pratibha Ray, acclaimed film director Prahlad Kakkar, activist author Aakar Patel, bestselling author Amish, Commonwealth prize-winning novelist Manju Kapur, Norwegian feminist writer Marta Breen, and Portuguese children’s author and illustrator Pedro Seromenho, among others.

Noteworthy about the Hyderabad Literary Festival is its commitment to accessibility. The event is open to everyone, and young individuals are encouraged to participate as volunteers. For those eager to plan their festival experience, the complete schedule is available at https://www.hydlitfest.org/.

As the literary world converges in Hyderabad, the 14th edition of the Hyderabad Literary Festival promises a delightful immersion into the realms of literature, culture, and thought-provoking conversations.
