X, under the leadership of Elon Musk, is introducing a new functionality allowing Android users to make audio and video calls directly from the app. The announcement was shared by Enrique, an engineer at X, who mentioned that the feature is gradually being rolled out for Android users through a recent app update.
Enrique's post on Friday stated, "Audio and video calls on X slowly rolling out for Android users today! Update your app and call your mother." However, it's important to note that this feature will be exclusive to premium users.

To manage their audio and video calling preferences, users can navigate to Settings > Privacy and Safety > Direct Messages. Within this section, users can specify who is allowed to call them from three distinct options: people in their address book, individuals they follow, and verified users. Users also have the flexibility to choose multiple options from these selections.
Additionally, X recently introduced a new basic paid tier catering to verified organizations. Priced at $200 per month or $2,000 per year, this tier offers a gold check-mark badge and several other benefits. This represents a more affordable alternative to the "full access" tier, which costs $1,000 per month. Geared towards smaller businesses, subscribers of the basic tier receive ad credits and priority support, facilitating accelerated growth on the X platform.
It's evident that X is actively expanding its features and subscription options to enhance user experience and accommodate the needs of various organizations.
