In a tragic incident in Ramunipatta village, Telangana, a security guard employed by Siddipet District Collector took the lives of his wife and two children before turning the gun on himself. The shocking event unfolded on Friday in Chinnakodur mandal.
The perpetrator, police constable Akula Naresh (35), also served as the gunman for District Collector Prashant Jeevan Patil. Naresh, who had not reported for duty on that fateful Friday, stayed at home. He fatally shot his wife Chaitanya (30), son Revanth (6), and daughter Himashri (5) using a pistol before taking his own life.
Upon hearing the gunshots, concerned neighbors rushed to the scene to find all four individuals lifeless. The village residents promptly alerted the police, who arrived, conducted an initial investigation, and then transferred the bodies for autopsy.
The police have initiated a case and are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the tragedy. While financial problems are suspected to be a contributing factor, locals suggest that Naresh had developed an addiction to online betting and had borrowed money from others. The police, however, assert that they are exploring all possible angles in their comprehensive investigation.
