Hijab is Our Right: Muskan's Call for Unity

Muskan, a student from Karnataka's Mandya district, expressed gratitude towards CM Siddaramaiah's decision to lift the hijab ban, stating that "hijab is our right" and advocating for unity among students. In her media statement on Saturday, Muskan emphasized the cultural significance of hijab and the need to separate politics from education.

Acknowledging the support from CM Siddaramaiah, Minister Zameer Ahmad Khan, Speaker U.T. Khader, and DyCM D.K. Shivakumar, Muskan highlighted their role in reinstating what she considers to be a fundamental right. She recalled the inclusive environment at college, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a brother-sister relationship among students.

Muskan asserted that hijab is a religious practice that should be respected, expressing concern about the impact of the hijab ban on girls who were forced to stay at home. She shared her personal experience of missing a year of college due to the ban and encouraged others to come forward and participate in exams.

During the previous government's hijab crisis, Muskan gained attention for raising a pro-Islam slogan in response to students chanting pro-Hindu slogans on campus. The incident, captured in a viral video.
