Saudi Arabia's Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Bandar Al Khorayef, successfully concluded an official visit to Japan focused on bolstering the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two nations. The primary objectives included discussions on the implementation of projects outlined in the Saudi-Japanese Vision 2030, attracting quality investments and partnerships in the mining and industrial sectors.
During his visit, Minister Al Khorayef engaged with Japanese Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, Ken Saito, emphasizing the desire to strengthen cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Japan. The discussions also explored promising opportunities for effective partnerships in the industrial and mining sectors.
A key highlight was the meeting with officials from the Japan Organization for Metals and Energy Security (JOGMEC), where strategic cooperation for supplying mineral resources to Japanese manufacturers was discussed. Saudi Arabia's significant mineral wealth, encompassing crucial minerals for advanced industries, positioned the Kingdom as an attractive hub for metal production.
Participation in a roundtable meeting for industry and mining in Tokyo further underscored collaboration. The event included representatives from the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, 19 Japanese companies from both public and private sectors, and officials from the industry and mineral resources system.
Minister Al Khorayef's visit also involved tours of factories, along with meetings and discussions with officials from various Japanese companies and institutions in the industry, mining, finance, and insurance sectors. These interactions focused on exploring cooperation and investment opportunities in Saudi Arabia across multiple promising sectors.
Discussions delved into the favorable investment environment in Saudi Arabia and the resilience of its advanced infrastructure. Additionally, Minister Al Khorayef met with Saudi male and female students on scholarship in Japan, underscoring the commitment to nurturing educational ties between the two nations. The Saudi Charge d'Affaires in Japan, Anas Al-Nuwaisir, was present during this engagement.
