In a determined bid to capture Rajamahendravaram Urban and Rural Assembly constituencies from the TDP in the upcoming elections, the YSRC leadership is strategizing 'Mission 175.' The Rajamahendravaram Lok Sabha segment, encompassing seven Assembly seats, witnessed the YSRC securing five seats in the 2019 elections.
Traditionally considered TDP strongholds, the urban and rural segments posed a surprise in the last elections as MP Margani Bharat, belonging to the BC community, clinched victory in the Lok Sabha seat. Backward Class voters played a crucial role in his success.
With 30% of the electorate being upper caste, and BCs and SCs forming significant portions, the urban seat holds a distinctive feature with influential BC community voters. Currently represented by Adiredddy Bhavani in the urban segment and Gorantla Butchaiah Chowdary in the rural, both from the TDP, the YSRC aims to secure victories in these crucial constituencies.
While YSRC eyes retaining the urban and rural seats, the TDP is equally determined to defend its turf. TDP might nominate Adireddy Srinivas, husband of sitting MLA Bhavani, for the urban seat, and if the rural seat goes to Jana Sena, Kandula Durgesh is a potential candidate.
In a strategic move, the YSRC is considering fielding Bharat from the urban segment to strengthen its position. The party is actively exploring strong candidates for both seats as part of its comprehensive effort to secure a clean sweep. Stay tuned for electoral developments in this competitive race.
