In a shocking incident, a woman inspector faced a violent attack from residents of a Mahanagar apartment in Lucknow while attempting to rescue a fellow resident. The group, led by individuals identified as Mithilesh, Mayank, and Lubna Kamal, allegedly threatened her with a pistol, verbally abused her, and even issued death threats.
Inspector Geeta Dwivedi, stationed at the ADG office in Lucknow, recounted the harrowing experience. It all unfolded when the security guard informed her about a society meeting, which she couldn't attend due to just returning home from the office.
A distress call from her neighbor, C. S. Bharti, who held the key to the conference room, prompted Geeta to rush to Bharti's flat. To her dismay, Bharti was surrounded by a group of youths, led by Mithilesh. Bharti, who had recently undergone eye surgery, was pleading for a meeting postponement.
Upon intervention, the situation escalated as Mithilesh, Mayank, and Lubna attacked Geeta, unleashing verbal abuse and threats. Mithilesh even brandished a pistol, intensifying the assault.
Geeta promptly filed a First Information Report (FIR) against the assailants, who included about 10 others. ACP Neha Tripathi of Mahanagar stated that efforts are underway to apprehend the accused, who are currently at large.
