Telangana Chief Minister Anumula Revanth Reddy has mandated the transformation of the entire Musi River catchment area, spanning from its origin to the city's conclusion, into a hub for employment and economic development.
During a review meeting at the Telangana Secretariat focused on the Musi Riverfront Development Corporation, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy proposed converting the Musi catchment area into a self-financing zone to attract tourists.
To achieve this vision, authorities have received instructions to formulate comprehensive plans for constructing bridges, commercial shopping complexes, amusement parks, hawker zones, and pathways along the Musi River through a public-private partnership model.
Emphasizing environmental sustainability, the Chief Minister emphasized the installation of sewage treatment plants in strategic locations to mitigate Musi River pollution and prevent sewage discharge. Measures include ensuring purified water flow in the Musi and constructing check dams to maintain optimal water levels.
Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, State Industries, IT and Legislative Affairs Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu, State Medical, Health and Family Welfare Minister Damodara Rajanarsimha, along with several legislators, MLCs, MLAs, and government officials, participated in the discussion led by Chief Secretary Shanti Kumari, Municipal Department Special Chief Secretary Arvind Kumar, Water Board MD Dana Kishore, and GHMC Commissioner Ronald Rose.
