Tragic Fire in Parked Car Claims Two Children's Lives in Patna


 

In a tragic incident late on Monday night on the outskirts of Patna, two children, Rajpal (7) and Shristi (6), were charred to death inside a parked Maruti Alto. The incident occurred at Sohgi Rampur Tad village under Gaurichak police station.

The children were playing inside the car when a fire broke out around 9 p.m. Due to the central locking system, they were trapped inside, and despite the efforts of family members, they couldn't be saved.

 The family members managed to retrieve the bodies by breaking the car's window panes and rushed them to a private hospital where doctors declared them dead. The car, belonging to Sanjit Kumar, recently had CNG installed, and the CNG cylinder was also consumed by the fire.

The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. Krishna Kumar, the SHO of Gaurichak police station, mentioned that Sanjit parked the car without locking the door after returning home in the evening.

The children likely entered the car and were playing inside when the unfortunate incident occurred. The bodies have been sent for postmortem after being received by the authorities.
